Notes 2/3/10


Organism-a living things

1) All living things are made up of cells.
2) All living things grow and develop.
-Grow because increase in the number of cells.
-Cells divide increase in size.
-All things that occur during the growth of an organism lifetime is called development.
3) All living things interact with their surroundings and respond to stimuli. Often a response results in movement.
4) All living things maintain homeostasis, the regulation of an organism's internal, life maintaining condition despite the outside environment. PICTURE-Flat surface-stimuli
5) All living things use energy. The energy used by most organisms comes either directly or indirectly from the sun.
6) All living things reproduce in order to survive.
-Water, Food, Air, Sun, Ozone layer, Shelter

What do you have in common with a flower?

A flower and I both grow, have cells, and have gender. We both have the option of reproducing, and have to reproduce to survive. We both need water, food, air, the sun, and the Ozone layer.
